Once Dr. Tyler starts putting her patience under hypnosis, it's obvious that it's not an owl watching the people of Nome.
There are a lot of very intense scenes in this movie, and I can not say enough about the cinematography and score for this movie. I've never wanted more in my life to travel 3,300 mile to see mountains and forest. Lorenzo Senaatore (Director of Photography) shows how a city can be so beautiful, and isolating at the same time.
The footage from Dr. Tylers hypnosis studies are scary.
But the acting leaves more than just a little to be desired. I can see how it would be hard for an actor to try and portray a character, and sync up their cadence and actions of another person during the split screen scenes.
Rating 7.5/10
It's really hard to get into detail about this movie without throwing out a couple of spoilers. So keep reading if you'd like to see what I really think about The Fourth Kind. I make an idiot out of myself...
SPOILERS!
I hate to let you in on this, but none of this movie is real. After twenty minutes of Google, it quickly became clear I am what a carnie would call an "easy mark".
I walked out of the theater thinking that this movie was based on real events. I bought the grainy therapy interviews, the police footage, and the big reveal at the end. Yeah. I'm dumb.
Just thinking about, if any of this "footage" was real, it would have been leaked long ago. I'm sorry but there are UFO's on a dash cam. There is no way anyone could keep this under wraps for the better part of 10 years.
Initial Rating : 9/10
After Realizing I'm and idiot: 6/10
After coming into the light, I didn't feel duped, even though throughout the movie they drive home the "this is real" angle. I felt just silly for believe in it. Sitting watching Paranormal Activity, I knew it was some bull. I have no idea why I thought Aliens could be real, but ghost, totally fake.
